Some Basic Dos and Donts for Food Combining


1. Stay away from combining protein like beef, chicken, fish, lamb or pork with starchy foods like bread.

2. Stay away from combining protein with dairy (e.g. Ice cream dessert after a steak dinner).

3. Stay away from combining raw fruit with starchy vegetables.

4. Stay away from combining sweets with protein or right after a protein meal, wait 30 minutes after dinner for dessert.


5. Combine protein with leafy vegetables.

6. Combine starchy foods with leafy or low-starch vegetables.

7. Papaya and pineapple contain abundant digestive enzymes and combine well with any food group (especially protein).

8. Eat fruit alone, preferably, first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach.
